Maui Beaches

Hawaii Beaches – Maui

Maui has more swimmer-friendly beaches than any other Hawaiian island, and includes some of the best beaches in Hawaii. Of Maui's 81 accessible beaches, 40 provide public facilities. The Hawaii beaches of Maui include vast stretches of white sand joined by beaches peppered with black lava and olivine green sands.

Here is a sampling of the best beaches in Hawaii found on Maui:

  • Kapalua Beach – Often found on U.S. and world "best beaches" lists, Kapalua's swim-safe waters are protected by coral reefs and long peninsulas. Molokai can be viewed from here.
  • Napili Beach  - This pretty white sand beach shaded by lovely palm trees and protected from most afternoon trade winds, offers excellent summer swimming and snorkeling.
  • Makena Beach – Snow white sand and gorgeous blue-green waters make this a very beautiful beach. Snorkeling and swimming are excellent here too.
  • Kama'ole Beach Parks – Three beach parks offer many family activities, from volleyball to snorkeling.
  • Kaanapali Beach -  This popular beach fronts two resorts and is busy, but it offers every water sport imaginable, and the snorkeling and scuba diving are superb.
